Former Coventry City striker Max Biamou has expressed full confidence in his old club's ability to survive in the Premier League. The Sky Blues secured promotion after finishing top of the Championship last season with 95 points, 11 clear of Ipswich Town, and Biamou believes they can handle the step up.

Biamou, who scored 33 goals in 116 appearances for Coventry between 2017 and 2021, told BBC CWR: "It's going to be a tough season but as long as everyone gives 100% then everyone will be happy. I know we are going to win games and stay in the Premier League because that's the main goal. We are going to do it 100%."
The former striker, who regularly returns to watch his old club, was at Saturday's friendly against Espanyol. He praised the club's rapid rise from League Two to the Premier League in less than a decade.
Why is Biamou so confident?
Biamou highlighted the club's strong foundation and the players' determination. "I came here when we were in League Two and now the club is in the Premier League," he said. "It's a big achievement from everyone - even from the players in League Two. The project was always to get back to the Premier League but we have done it in less than 10 years. It's amazing, but I am not surprised."
What challenges lie ahead for Coventry City?
Despite his optimism, Biamou acknowledges the difficulties ahead. "It's going to be tough," he admitted. "But the players know what's expected of them. They've shown they can compete at a high level, and now they need to prove it in the Premier League."
Coventry City will be looking to build on their impressive form from last season, where they scored 97 goals and conceded just 45, finishing with a +52 goal difference. Their recent form of four wins and two draws in their last six games will give them confidence as they prepare for the new campaign.
