Signing details
Coventry City have agreed a £6million deal to bring Brentford centre-back Ethan Pinnock to the Ricoh Arena. The fee consists of £5m upfront with a further £1m in add-ons, and the 33-year-old will be signed on a three-year contract, with an option for a 12-month extension.
Pinnock’s background
Pinnock, who has been in the final year of his contract at Brentford (running to 2027), joined the West London club from Barnsley in 2019. He has made 216 appearances for Brentford, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists, and was a key part of the 2020-21 promotion campaign from the Championship. In the 2024-25 season he lost his place in the starting XI, not featuring in the final eight Premier League games and playing only eight matches last term, four of which were league games.
International experience
The Jamaica international has earned 28 senior caps, playing every minute of the World Cup qualification play-offs, where Jamaica beat New Caledonia and then lost to the Democratic Republic of Congo after extra time. Pinnock has been Coventry’s ninth summer arrival and the club’s second centre-back signing after Aurele Amenda joined from Eintracht Frankfurt in July.
