Coventry City has been dealt a blow as transfer target Dimitris Giannoulis reportedly doesn't want to play in the Premier League. Olympiacos, PAOK, and AEK Athens are interested. Premier League clubs Coventry City and Hull City have been hit following reports of a key decision made by one of their transfer targets, who is also of interest to Greek giants Olympiacos, PAOK and AEK Athens. According to TransferFeed, Augsburg left-back Dimitris Giannoulis is of interest to the recently promoted English Premier League teams Coventry and Hull. However, they indicate that the player does not want to play in the Premier League. "Coventry City, a newly promoted Premier League club managed by Frank Lampard, has been monitoring 30-year-old Greek left-back Dimitris Giannoulis," the cited outlet began explaining. They added, "However, Giannoulis recently rejected the move, reportedly stating that he does not want to play in the Premier League again." The same report indicates that he has not yet directly rejected Hull City, as that response was directed at Coventry's representatives. That said, we at Roundtable learned from reliable sources that the player intends to return to Greek soccer, where three big clubs are closely following him. Now, according to TransferFeed, Olympiacos "is very interested" in the player, but the player will have the final say, since PAOK and AEK Athens are also interested, the specialized site reports. The 30-year-old full-back has a market value of $3.3 million, according to Transfermarkt, and a contract with Augsburg that extends until the summer of 2028. Giannoulis has 34 appearances for the Greek national team and played 27 matches in the Bundesliga during the 2025-26 season, in which he scored two goals and provided five assists. Olympiacos still has to resolve the future of its current left-backs, Francisco Ortega and Bruno Onyemaechi. The Argentine has aroused the interest of some clubs abroad, including Italian side Udinese. As for the Nigerian, it is unclear whether he will leave, but earlier this month, there was talk that Jose Luis Mendilibar's team would change both of its left-backs. For now, it is most likely that Ortega will leave, but there are no strong indications that Onyemaechi will do the same. So, a long summer awaits us. As for the right-backs, it seems that Mallorca's Pablo Maffeo is almost 100% closed to arrive at Piraeus, with Portuguese player Costinha leaving for Brighton & Hove Albion and giving up his spot. Thrylos' other target in that position is Levadiakos defender Triantafyllos Tsapras. There has been a lot of transfer buzz around this topic, but for now, there are no significant developments to report. How do you think Olympiacos' defense will look at the end of the transfer window?
