Coventry City are 11 points clear at the top of the Championship, with 95 points from 46 games, recent form WWWDD. The Sky Blues have scored 97 goals and conceded 45 this season, with a +52 goal difference. Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has reportedly expressed interest in signing Chelsea attacker Mykhailo Mudryk, who had arrived at the Blues in January 2023 in a £62 million move. Following a quiet start to life at Stamford Bridge, Mudryk was provisionally suspended for four years in December 2024 for an anti-doping violation. After serving 18 months of his suspension, the FA and WADA ended their proceedings against him, thanks to a change in WADA's testing process, allowing the Ukrainian an immediate return to action. As per The Sun, three Premier League sides are interested in the services of Mudryk, who has scored five Premier League goals. One of them is Lampard's Coventry, who're back in the top flight after more than a decade following their Championship triumph last season. The Sun has reported that Mudryk has joined the Blues squad in Hong Kong for pre-season, along with new signing Danny Welbeck. Mudryk's former club, Shakhtar Donetsk, stand to lose up to £26 million in performance-based bonuses, like 'winning the Champions League, Premier League and other individual performance-related conditions,' as per Sky Sports, if he doesn't play. However, having been out of action for more than a year, it's not immediately clear whether Mudryk would remain with Chelsea or be sent out on loan to regain match fitness. The 26-year-old is said to be training individually with a private coach at non-league side Uxbridge FC as he looks to return to competitive action.
